Getting to know the D40

Hey all, I have recently made the decision that I want to purchase a D40 DSLR, but wanted to look into the camera itself first.. so if you own one, or know about them, any info regarding their strenghts or flaws would be great! As always I appreciate your knowledge - Vistasucks

Also, as I site here in my one bedroom piece of crap apartment heated by my little floor heater, I just cant think of any reason to justify the purchase of a $500 DSLR.. I mean, sure its an amazing thing i would love to have but.. is it really worth it for me? What if I cant make notta off of it.. IDK, if you can help please do, as $500 is a huge desicion at the moment (ones months rent, or a DSLR? haha)

I would go to bestbuy or a camera store to check it out just to get the feel for it thats what i did with the D80 and I thought the D80 felt the best

Hey thanks will, I know I told you before that I had a revelation of sorts about spending money, but Im over that I think (those things never do last long) and now Im looking into a D40 again. My dad offered to buy my S9 at full price because he knows I want a better camera, and he LOVES my S9 (He needs it for his bussiness lol) and also I take care of it, so it could pretty much be NIB. Anyway, Ive been reading alot of reviews, and for the money availabe the D40 seems to be great. Id love to hear some input from the Talknikon community, especially anyone here whos used it! Thanks!
