Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a complete newbie to digital photography, specifically the DSLR. I'm okay with a point and shoot digital. I've seen some of the amazing things that can be done with them and am eager to learn.

I just bought a Nikon D200 and received it last Friday. I'm a bit overwhelmed with the features. I'm looking for suggestions in regards to an "overall" lens that you would recommend I buy to reduce changing of lenses. I hope to be an active member once I get the hang of this camera.

For an overall lens it depends on what your shooting. I have an 18-55mm what i use 90% of the time, so if you want a wide angle lens i would go with a 18-55 or if you want to have more of a zoom get 18 to the highest you can get (im not sure what it is it might be 90)

I am surprised! You say you are newbie and you bought Nikon D200 WOW, you are a lucky fellow. That's quite a capable camera.
