Default re-glue Nikon wrap-around lens grip

The black rubber (or whatever it is) textured wrap-around (where you grip the lens) on my VR 55-200 lens is coming unglued.

Any suggestions as what to use to reglue it?

Doug

Glue.

Just kidding. I am not sure because I have never had that problem with any lens before.

Boy...thats a new one on me....

I think if it were me I'd use Contact Cement as it's good for gluing Rubber to both Metal, & Plastic, but I would also ask at a camera store or two and maybe even send an email to Nikon or whatever brand your lens is and get their opinion.

If you do end up using Contact Cement though, follow the directions carefully as this stuff will stick as soon as both sides make contact and you won't be able to lift the rubber back up and re-postion it.

Asking Nikon what they recommend is probably your best bet! But what Bubba suggested will probably work pretty well.

Let us know how it goes.
