New camera!

Hey all, got my new camera today. Hard to make any use of it as it is cloudy today. But I used it a little just to see how it worked and I must say, impressed with the camera itself alot. More impressed with my tamron 75-300 mm, that lense is amazing. Some nice glass right there. Everything else seemed in order, except my memory card which I got two two gig instead of one four gig, minor problem ill just return them and request my four gig. Again, Id like to recommend the Tamron glass to EVERYONE because seriously guys, it is amazing.

Okay, the D40x.. Its a pretty good camera. Shoots fast frames, feels good. Still getting to understand the settings..
The LCD is a great size and resolution
Easy to get lenses on and off..

Only negative remark is -Feels kind of cheap in some areas.

Besides that, which is very minor flaw in camera feel, Im much impressed with everything.. Oh, excet the tripod, but what do you excpect for nine hundred dollars?

Congrats! You've got a nice camera there...

I'd just keep the 2 2 gig cards if I were you. Reason? If a card fails (it can happen), you still have another. Also, downloading the images from a 1 gig card takes long enough, 2 gig - go get coffee, 4 gig? Take a nap! :-)

awesome taylor! So glad you like it. Yeah im disapointed about todays weather to! Sory taylor, looks like i wont be able to take those pics we talked about yesterday! Anyway enjoy ur camera! Bob, i agree with you about the memory card that makes a lot of sense!

Haha yeah thinking it over Id have to agree with you now Bob.. You would think they would come out with a quiker downloading memory card; Im sure they are not lacking in the tchnology side of it.
Thanks everyone, I love my camera.. Clouds decided to clear up last night, allowing me to shoot the sunset behind my house. That made me one happy camper
