Anyone have this camera? It has the same megapixels as the D80, so whats the boost in price for? I mean, maybe better features, sure, but $1000 boost is ridiculous!
The d80 is better because it has the same (or newer) software

I dont really know about the d200 because im not really intrested in it becuase i think the d80 is better

Hello everyone!
So i know how you guys feel about canons but...my uncle and cousin both very hight techy kind of people (@ least when it comes to cameras) recommended the Canon rebel. Im not sure which model. They both said it was a great camera. So now im not sure! You guys are confusing me! How can there be people who love one brand and people who despise that brand! It does not make sense. Either its a good camera or its not. So anyway, thats where im kind of leaning now becuase its cheaper and smaller and silverer (my word :-) ) lol

Oh, no.. you got us all wrong. The Canon Rebel Xt is a fine camera Ellie, one that many proffesionalls use daily. Its just a matter of prefereance, and when it comes down to it, I prefer the feel of the Nikon. It feels more like a well oiled machine, and it has great feel to it. Thats just our opinion though.. If you try out the Rebel and like it, go for it.

Tryed the D40x at Bestbuy the other day and it was simply wonderful. $500 less than the D80 too.

Okie dokie!
I have to get over there Taylor and take a look! I found a really good deall on the rebel and it comes with a kit and a 18-35 mm lens. I think it was 420 or something like that. Its an 8 mp and seems like a nice camera. Still looking! im open to any recommendations as long as its not over 600 dollars! THanks!

I wouldnt get a 18-35 (unless you ment 55) because I have a 18-55 and im usually have it around 50-55 so with 35 it wouldnt (i dont think) be that great of a all around piece of glass

Yeah, thats not a good idea.

You will want some versatility, maybe even two lenses.. I would recommend one around the 55mm range, and another one that zooms to 200mm+

Just my recomendation, as you will definitly want to be experimenting with different looking photos
