Default Do you backup your photos?

Do you backup your photos (digital) on to a separate hard drive or a cd or dvd?

I dont I probably would if I was better or something.. I just keep them on my computer.

What about you?

Most computers have a pretty slim chance of deleting your photos, but there always is a small chance it may happen

It ain't the Macintrash, it's the hard drive. Being electromechanical, HDDs have a finite lifespan. When they die, it ain't pretty. Want a couple of dead HDDs from Macs? I have a pile of them in my office - they make great reminders that the ONLY way to safeguard data is with MULTIPLE backups.

We backup EVERY job to dvd or cd BEFORE we start editing images - the keepers as well as the throwaways. Once the job is edited, 2 more dvds or cds of the completed project are made. This also goes for jobs that are shot on film , scanned, and post processed in Photoshop. If it's a big job, I'll do a partial backup during the editing process in case a drive crashes mid-project.

Trusting in ANY hardware is nuts...

It doesnt take that long!

Believe me, and my years of mistakes, never trust your computer.. no matter how much you love it.
Seriously though, its a little weird that you love your macintosh so much!

Now go and spend a few mintutes and backup your photos! (You could do that instead of posting for a day ver think of that?)
